The R Factor was a radio jingle writting project by Resource Cumbria and Musiclinks working with Primary School across Cumbria. The schools who took part worked with a muiscian to write and record a jingle about recycling that was entered into a competition to have the jingle recorded professionally.
I worked with 13 schools across the county and 1 of them, Cambridge Street in Barrow was a finalist in the competition.
Andy Halsey – Musiclinks – ‘The work carried out by you as Music Leader (working in primary schools in the Barrow area) educating and empowering the young people taking part, resulted in the composition of a number of unique, well structured and uplifting compositions.
The fact that one of the songs you helped the students to create was voted as runner up for the South of the County (beating around 50 other entrants) by a panel of independent judges, is a testament to the special qualities that you bring to each project you are involved with.
Thank you once again for your involvement with the R Factor project. Your talent, integrity and enthusiasm for the work you do, is very much appreciated by all those who have the good fortune to work with you.’
